What's the connection? 3 April 2010

What’s the connection between happy living, peace in society and an environment worth living in?
A WakeUp meeting for young adults from 18-35.

Walking in the here-and-now "Every morning, when we wake up, we have twenty-four brand-new hours to live. What a precious gift! We have the capacity to live in a way that these twenty-four hours will bring peace, joy and happiness to ourselves and others” – Thich Nhat Hanh

Come to a meeting of WakeUp, “Buddhist and Non-Buddhist Youth for a Healthy & Compassionate Society”, a world-wide network of young people practicing the living art of mindfulness. The WakeUp network has grown out of Plum Village meditation centre in southwest France, home of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.

Together with four young monks and nuns from Plum Village, we will learn and practice the art of mindful living, recognizing the miracle of life as we eat, walk, meditate and share our experiences with each other. We will strengthen our ability to listen deeply and speak from our heart, practices that can transform our lives and our relationship with those around us.
